I'm very excited to introduce Chinook to you! This little one is such a sweet baby! I’ve given him loads of detail (including individually pose-able toes) and he’s really come “alive” for me :o) I hope you enjoy seeing him!
Chinook was so much fun to create and photograph - many, many hours and detail went into this baby bear! I’ve taken lots of pictures so you can see what a lovable sweetie he is!
Chinook is a one of a kind artist bear completely designed and handsewn (no machine work or needle felting) by me, Melisa Nichols. He is very detailed and as such he is his own unique individual and can not be duplicated ~ a true one of a kind.
Chinook is made from gorgeous recycled mahogany mink fur (fully lined). This fur is so soft and adds an extra touch of realism to him.
Chinook has so much detail in his face. His face has been thread sculpted. Then I scissor sculpted and hand shaded it. He has soulful black glass eyes with movable eye lids so he can be posed awake or asleep.
I sculpted Chinook’s nose from leather. He has move-able leather mouth with a pose-able leather tongue (wired along the edges so it can hold a pose). His mouth is wired for posing.
Chinook's paws are leather and are thread sculpted - he has lovely chubby feet that are pink like a real baby bear. Each toe is individually wired for posing. I hand carved claws for him from moose antler - this is a very time consuming project, but I love how these extra details bring him to “life”. This moose antler is a product that does not harm the moose in anyway. We find the antler while hiking as the moose shed it every fall/winter to grow new ones in the spring.
Chinook’s body is realistically designed and has a cute little tail.
Chinook is completely handsewn and filled with polyfill, pellets, and an extra portion of cuddles. He is fully armatured for posing and is so fun to pose!
Chinook is 8.5” tall and sits at about 6.5“.

Chinook will arrive in a special box with hang tags that include his birth date, a picture of him and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. He is a collectable baby bear made for display only - not suitable for children due to small parts.
