I'm so excited to introduce Amaroo my newest baby Koala bear. I've given him an Aboriginal name that means “lovely or beautiful place”.

Amaroo was so much fun to create and photograph! He is such a sweet baby and was so good for the camera. He is a one of a kind artist bear completely designed and handsewn (no machine work or needlefelting) by me, Melisa Nichols.  Many, many hours went into creating Amaroo as he is extremely detailed – this means he is his own unique individual and impossible for me to duplicate ~ a true one of a kind.   

Amaroo is made from incredibly soft recycled muskrat fur. This makes him such a cuddly handful.

Amaroo has extensive detail in his face.  His face has been thread sculpted and scissor sculpted. I've also slightly hand shaded parts of his face. Amaroo's eyes are very special and unique. He has black glass eyes with movable wired eye lids (both top and bottom eyelids are wired) so he can be posed awake or sound asleep (they can close completely and are easy to position).

I sculpted Amaroo’s realistic nose from leather and gave the inside of his nostrils a “wet” look. His mouth is thread sculpted.

Amaroo is 7” long.

I created Amaroo's adorable paws from leather. Each toe and finger is individually wired so he can hold on to things. His paws are are thread sculpted and hand shaded. I also hand sculpted and carved his epoxy clay claws. They have been hand painted and sealed.

Amaroo is completely handsewn and filled with polyfill, pellets (in his tummy), and an extra portion of cuddles.  He is fully armatured for posing and is so fun to pose!

Amaroo's adoption price is $1300. He has been adopted.

Amaroo will arrive in a special box with hang tags that include his birth date, a picture of him and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. He is a collectable  baby bear made for display only - not suitable for children due to small parts.

If you would like air delivery, this can be arranged at an additional cost. My handling time is 3 days from payment.
